A Prayer to Overcome Worry

Heavenly Father, in this moment of uncertainty and unease, I come to You, the source of all comfort and peace. I lay before You the burdens that weigh heavily on my heart, the worries that consume my thoughts and steal my rest. Lord, I confess that I have allowed the cares of this world to overshadow the truth of Your unwavering love and sovereign control. Forgive me for my lack of trust and for the moments when I have allowed fear to take hold, rather than resting in the assurance of Your promises. I ask that You would fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may be strengthened and empowered to cast all my anxieties upon You. Remind me that You are a God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. Your Word declares that You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Lord, I choose to trust in You. I choose to believe that You are working all things together for my good and for Your glory. When the waves of worry threaten to overwhelm me, help me to fix my eyes on You, the anchor of my soul. Grant me the wisdom to discern what I can control and what I must surrender to Your perfect will. Teach me to pray with thanksgiving, to seek Your face, and to find my refuge in the shadow of Your wings. In the midst of this storm, may Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. I thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and for the promise that You will never leave me nor forsake me. In the precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
